Ipswich

The coastal town of Ipswich is in Essex County on the north shore of Massachusetts. With a population of approximately 14,000, it is home to the well known Sandy Point State Reservation which includes a portion of Plum Island. The primarily residential community is rich in tourism and renowned for its clams that are promoted each year at the Ipswich Chowderfest. Another draw for the town is Crane Beach, a destination for many Bostonians being among one of the most gorgeous beaches on the north shore in the summertime.

The Ipswich High School has often been regarded as one of the best in the area with some of the highest graduation rates in the state of Massachusetts. The public school system has a great performing arts program and in 2005 the high school was awarded designation of a “Blue Ribbon” school, an award for national excellence in education.
